Principle[]
It is an impulse machine, meaning that it uses Newton's second law of motion to extract energy from a jet of fluid.
Original design[]
It should be noted that the original was an one piece cast impulse water turbine. It is subsequently modified to create more efficient designs.
The original design is still used for high heads and low discharge.
